Red Phoenix Emporium are a jewellery brand I discovered a few weeks ago after they commented on one of my blog posts. I decided to find out more so contacted Aussies Lotus and Willow (the twin sisters behind the designs) to tell me a little bit more about what they do.
Red Phoenix Emporium is a company centred around ethical and traditional values. It's a family affair in that mother, auntie and daughters are involved and together, they say they have "created an online emporium of eclectic original designs and unique products". The twins say that they love to surround themselves with "beautiful, stylish and unique things" that they have designed, created or collected on their travels.

Where do you find your inspiration?
Everywhere! Willow and I keep look books of inspiring colours, materials and trends and we use this to build a theme for a collection. Last season we were inspired by the idea of drawing together tribal references from around the world. The Global Tribe collection features orange coral, hot pink agate, Chinese turquoise and zebra jasper to bring out your urban warrior! With Autumn/Winter around the corner in Australia we are loving orange, green, metallics and ribbon.
Who are your favourite designers?
My Mum! She is so talented. Her latest creations are these huge floral pom-pom fringed cushions that are to die for! Like every other girl on the face of the planet I am in love with the major fashion houses of Prada, Chanel, Miu Miu, YSL, Celine and Chloe. But I am also a huge supporter of emerging designers - I love Salita Matthews, Juli Grbac and George Wu to name a few Brisbane labels.

Do you have any style icons?
My favourite style icon is the one and only Faux Fuchsia (http://www.fauxfuchsiastyle.blogspot.com/). She taught me to be brave with my fashion and to not dumb it down. In terms of celebrities I think Kate Moss and Alexa Chung always look amazing and effortless.
What trends do you love or hate at the moment?
I am loving sleek, minimal outfits with bold accessories, boyfriend blazers, knotted belts and pops of colour. I hate 70's style flared pants.

Where is your favourite place in the world?
I love to travel, so anywhere sounds good to me! Some favourite destinations were Southern Italy, the Greek Islands and Japan. Willow and I are heading back to Bali again soon for some tropical inspiration!
Do you have any style advice or tips?
I love getting inspiration from street style blogs and will often adapt bits and pieces of different outfits that I like. I also mix in a lot of vintage and a Red Phoenix necklace to keep my outfits unique!
Probably the best tip I can give is to go through your wardrobe carefully and chuck out anything that doesn't fit your body shape, is the wrong colour or you haven't worn for a season. Once you get rid of all the distractions you will be amazed how much easier it is to get dressed!!

I know these twins in Real Life and they are indeed very stylish and very glam and they would never ever knowingly under-accessorise! They also cleverly mix el cheapo thrift shop vintage with high end clobber very well (something I can't do).
ReplyDeleteLove the blog.
I'm glad to hear it. They seem like truely inspiring and empowering women.
