There Is No Future Without History

End of the week - woo hoo! And I've ended up staying in, making a very fattening biscuit cake followed by a good helping of workout DVD, and a tad blogging to top it all off.

We had our Fashion history presentations this morning. Was fairly successful. I finished on time and I was pleased with the amount of work I did. I've attatched a few photos so you can see. As you can see, my speciality is not freehand drawing and figure drawing but I think my skills lie in the presentation of the pages themselves and the more tecnical parts of the project. However, I got an A- which I'm very pleased about and some good feedback to work on.

So my Uni application is ongoing, I've been given some advice on some things to think about and add to my personal statement by our new tutor, which I am very appreciative of, considering she has such a wide spectrum of experience in the fashion business. She said ''I wonder if it might be worth mentioning the names of some journalists whose style you particularly like or whose columns or editorials you read.( If you don't have a favourite at the moment then
it would be a good time to find one as I know if my lecturing friends were interviewing you, they would think that very relevant...... i.e. do you have a leaning towards a certain style etc etc )''. I do have a favourite fashion magazine, Glamour, which I've been reading for about 5 years now, religiously. But of course there's always Vogue and Harper's Bazaar which are timeless. Did you know that Harper's Bazaar was first published in 1867? So they even had fashion Bible's way back then... So I plan to encorporate as much of her advice as I can into the statement.
